The Greater Los Angeles Spinning Guild is a friendly group of spinners in the L.A. area. Our members come to spinning from a variety of fiber arts: knitting, weaving, rug-making, felting and more.
All skill levels are welcome, from master to novice. If you're curious, even if you've never spun before, come to a meeting and we'll teach you!
We meet on the fourth Saturday of every month (although we may change that if it conflicts with a holiday; see our Meetings & Events Calendar). Except in June, our meeting place is:
St. Andrew's Lutheran Church
11555 National Boulevard
Los Angeles, California 90064
(corner of National and Federal) (Map)
The business meeting begins at 9:30 or 10, followed by informal spinning. In June we meet in a member's backyard for our Annual Dyefest.
We frequently follow our business meeting with a workshop or program, such as making pine needle baskets, spinning bulky singles, spinning hand-painted roving, and spinning exotic fibers, that encourages our members to expand skills and explore the fiber arts.
Some of the pages of this site have members' personal contact information, which we'd rather not make publicly available, so those pages are login-protected. Members have the User Name and Password, and may give them to prospective members at their own discretion; please contact us if you're interested in joining our guild.
Please browse our site, and drop us an email if you're interested in becoming a member of our Guild. Please also see our Yahoo group. You can join it without being a Guild member.
Come join us! We'd love to have you.
